Schigt & VegaConsulting

Hospitality consulting · and beyond

Less back office. More time for your guests.

We built Kalon Surf from scratch. No hospitality experience, just a lot of passion and drive, and that turned out to be one of our greatest strengths. Now we love to share what we learned. We help you get clear on what your guests want, and we simplify the work behind it, AI included, so you can focus on the guest in front of you.

We love this work. So we share it.

Every week at Kalon we ask one question: did we make our guests happy? If yes, we keep going. If not, we learn, we fix it and we do better tomorrow. That habit built our business, and it’s what we love to share.

  • Start with the guest

What do your guests really want? Where does the experience fall short? We find out, and turn it into a short list: the few things to do first.

  • Simplify what’s behind it

Reservations, guest communication, purchasing, housekeeping, finance. We look at how the work really moves, cut what nobody needs and make the rest dependable. No inherited assumptions. No “this is how it’s always done.”

  • Put AI to work behind the scenes

Kalon’s own back office runs on systems we built, with automation and AI. We bring over what works for us, so your people can stay with the guest.

Hospitality is home. The same thinking works wherever people serve people.

The guest is the star. Everything we do points in that direction.

How we work

With the team you already have. One thing at a time.

  1. Listen

We listen first. Your business, your team, your guests: how it really runs today, not how the manual says it should.

  2. Plan

A short plan: what to change, what to automate, and what to leave alone.

  3. Build it with your team

We set it up with your team. Then it’s theirs to run.

Who we are

We live it every day.

In 2011 we started Kalon Surf in Dominical, Costa Rica. Two people who had never worked in hospitality. We built it from scratch, and we kept asking how to do it better. Today Kalon is family-owned, with official five-star status and a team of 35, and it has been featured in Forbes, Vogue and CNN.
